That’s a wrap! Easy, personalised photo wrapping paper

The season of ceremonies is on its way. Here are five ideas to make your wrapping paper stand out, using your very own photos. It’s always nice to receive a small gift. But when it comes wrapped with loving care, it’s even better. Follow our tips on using your photos to make personalised wrapping paper that nobody will want to throw away.

A personalised present for everyone
If you have a batch of gifts for everyone at a family gathering, why not personalise each one with a photo? First, wrap all of your presents with the gift wrap of your choice. Next, print off standard sized photos of each guest. With the help of a compass, draw a circle around the face of each person. Cut out the image and pierce it using the compass point. Thread some fine paper twine through the hole, then use it to close up the package, in a way that centres the portrait like a medallion.

A gift box inspired by nature
Wrap your present in natural brown kraft paper from Hobbycraft, sticking the sides down from the inside with double-sided tape. You’ve already printed the retro-style photo of your favourite landscape, which you’ve edited using Instagram filters for a trendy vintage-looking finish. On the top, write a caption describing the landscape, or even a quotation about travelling. All that’s left to do is stick the photo directly onto the wrapping paper, then tie a ribbon around the package with hemp cord, for example.

A chic graphic-style gift wrap
Do you want to create truly original gift-wrapping? Print one of your favourite photos in black and white, then draw geometric motifs (squares or rectangles) and cut out each shape. Next, wrap your present with matt black paper. Carefully stick the cut-out pieces of your photo onto the paper (like a jigsaw puzzle coming together, so the people and/or landscapes can be easily recognised, or completely mix them up for a surprise effect). Guaranteed to impress!

You’ve got a message!
Another original creation for personalised wrapping paper is to transform your best photos into cards: baptism or communion cards, wedding announcements, there’s one for every occasion. Add a personal message and attach it to your gift package with matching masking tape. And there you have it.
