ABOUT

Produced and published by Photobox, Europe’s largest gifting and photo personalisation company, The People’s Beatles is a new coffee table book featuring over 250 photographs of The Beatles following a global appeal for crowdsourced photographs led by Barry Miles, Sir Paul McCartney’s official biographer.

Launched to commemorate the 50th anniversary of The Beatles' last ever live performance which took place on the roof of Apple Records in London on 30th January 1969, The People's Beatles will provide a people’s portrait charting the astonishing journey from unknown Liverpudlians to the most popular band in the history of music - covering everything from Hamburg to the Cavern Club, the birth of Beatlemania, to the European and American tours; from the Magical Mystery Tour, through to their final album, Let it Be, and beyond.

In less than 6 weeks over 1000 images were submitted from over 15 countries across the world including UK, France, Italy, Spain, US, Australia and New Zealand.

Taken together, the photographs chart the astonishing journey from unknown Liverpudlians to the most popular band in the history of music, with pictures spanning the Cavern Club to the birth of Beatlemania, the American tours through to Magical Mystery Tour, to their final album Let it Be, and beyond.

An accompanying photographic exhibition will showcase a selection of the best images at The Beatles Story museum in Liverpool - the world's largest permanent exhibition purely devoted to the lives and times of The Beatles.

The Peoples Beatles is available to buy for £25 with 100% of the profits will be donated to Nordoff Robbins, the largest independent Music Therapy charity in the UK.
