The 15 best baby shower games

By Photobox on 13 May 2025

Here are 15 fun, easy-to-play games that’ll keep your guests laughing and entertained the whole day.

Looking for some baby shower game ideas? Whether you’re planning it yourself or it’s a surprise, we’re here to help you throw an unforgettable party.

1. Dummy fishing

This is one of our favourites.

Each player holds a skewer in their mouth and, without using their hands, tries to pick up as many dummies as possible from the table. The player who collects the most wins. If you have a lot of guests, you can play multiple rounds and keep score – the highest tally at the end wins.

You’ll need:

• Long skewers – 20cm (like chopsticks)
• Dummies.

2. The ultrasound puzzle

For this game, print a recent ultrasound image of the baby onto a puzzle. Scatter the puzzle pieces across a table and set a timer for 10–15 minutes. Ready, set, go.

Sounds easy? Think again. For anyone not used to reading ultrasounds (especially in black and white) it’s a real challenge to figure out what’s what.

You’ll need:

• Puzzle with the image of an ultrasound
• Alarm (you can use the one on your mobile phone).

Make a photo puzzle

3. How big is Mum’s belly?

Get ready to guess.

Hand each guest a long strand of wool or thread and have them cut a piece they think matches the size of the mum-to-be’s belly. The guest whose piece is closest to the real measurement wins.

You’ll need:

•Wool or thread
• Scissors

4. Who’s who?

This one’s a guaranteed hit at a mixed baby shower, so don’t forget to add it to your list.

Before the party, ask each guest to send you a photo of themselves as a baby. On the day, display the photos in a visible spot and number them. Each guest must then match the baby photo to the right person by writing down names next to the photo numbers. The guest with the most correct guesses wins.

You’ll need:

• Baby photos from your guests
• Sheets of paper
• Pens or pencils

Make your photo prints

5. Tie your shoes like Mum

Ready for some belly laughs?

For this game, each guest has to stuff a balloon under their shirt to mimic a baby bump – then try to tie their shoes. It’s much trickier (and funnier) than it sounds. Get your cameras ready because you’re going to want to capture the laughs.

You’ll need:

• Balloons

6. Secret message on nappies

Hand out nappies to your guests and get them to write a secret message on each one. The only rule? No peeking until it’s time to use them. Let them get creative with messages ranging from silly to sweet.

You’ll need:

• A pack of nappies
• Markers or pens

7. Twister with a baby bump

Prove to your opponents that a baby bump won’t get in the way of becoming a twister champion.

To play, each guest must simulate the mum-to-be by placing a pillow or balloon under their shirt. Then it’s game on. The last one standing (without falling or popping their “bump”) wins.

You’ll need:

• Twister game
• Balloons or pillows

8. Who drinks the bottle the fastest?

Looking for a game that can get everyone involved? This is a baby shower classic.

Grab enough baby bottles for all your guests and fill them with a soft drink of your choice. Split into two teams, line up, and count down from 3,2,1…and the game begins.

The first player from each team races to finish their bottle. Once they’re done, the next teammate takes over. The team that finishes all their bottles first wins.

Want to make it even more entertaining?
Have players sit with their hands behind their backs while drinking (no cheating).

You’ll need:

• Baby bottles (one per player)
• Soft drinks of your choice (fruit juice, fizzy drink)

9. Blind feeding

For those feeling a bit peckish, this one’s for you. It’s especially fun if the dad-to-be is also part of the celebration.

To play, blindfold the mum-to-be and have her feed the dad without making a mess. To turn up the fun, add some upbeat music and set a time limit.

Want to involve more guests? Let other couples join in and make it a race. The couple that finishes their food first (with the least mess) wins. Remember – no peeking or cheating.

You’ll need:

• Blindfolds
• Small portions of easy-to-feed food (e.g yoghurt)
• Spoons
• Napkins (trust us, you’ll need them).

10. Plasticine baby sculpting contest

Have your guests show off their sculpting skills by making their very own plasticine babies.

Make the competition even more interesting with prize categories like:

• Most anatomically correct
• Creepiest baby
• Funniest creation
• Most elegant
• Least baby-like (in the best way)

You’ll need:

• Plasticine or modelling clay (enough for everyone)

11. Book of advice

This one isn’t techically a game, but we love the idea.

Invite guests to share their best advice, kind words, or heartfelt wishes for the new parents. Provide cards or pieces of paper and either hand them out at the start or set up a dedicated table where guests can write their notes throughout the party.

At the end of the baby shower, collect all the messages and put them in an envelope or notebook as a heartfelt keepsake the parents-to-be can look back on.

You’ll need:

• Pens or pencils
• Cards or paper
• Envelopes or a notebook

12. Who takes the prize?

Here’s another game all your guests can play.

Fill a giant baby bottle with sweets and chocolates and get everyone to guess how many are inside. The person whose guess is closest wins the whole bottle to take home.

Want to spread a little more joy?
Award second and third prizes too, like a bottle of bubbly or a bunch of flowers.

You’ll need:

• A giant baby bottle or clear jar
• Lots of sweets
• Slips of paper for guesses

13. Who dresses my baby best?

This baby shower challenge is a guaranteed crowd pleaser.

Set up two baby dolls, complete with nappies and clothes (bodysuits, tiny tees, hats and shoes). In each round, two players face off to see who can dress their ‘baby’ the fastest.

Start with the parents-to-be, then let the rest of the guests take turns. Set a 3-minute time limit to keep things interesting.

You’ll need:

• Two baby dolls
• Baby clothes (variety of items)
• Nappies

14. Wipes championship

Changing a baby with one hand is a real-life parenting skill, so let’s see who’s got it.

Challenge your guests to pull just one wipe from a packet and use their non-dominat hand to clean something off a surface area (in just one wipe). The cleanest wipe wins.

If multiple players win, hold elimination rounds until only one wipe-master remains.

You’ll need:

• Wipes

15. The grand finale – photo booth fun

Wrap up the party with an epic group shot.

Gather all your guests, dress them up in baby-themed props and get them to show off their prizes and bottles as they pose for the camera.

Idea 💡: Choose the best photo and turn it into a personalised gift for the parents-to-be or print one for each guest as a memento of the day.

You’ll need:

• A camera or phone with a timer
• Baby-themed props (hats, bibs, bottles, etc.)
• A space with good lighting or a DIY photo booth setup
