The ultimate guide to our Wall Art
By Photobox on 19 January 2026
Acrylic? Aluminium? Collage? Frame? If looking at wall decor options makes your head spin, we’re here to help. Here’s the ultimate guide to Photobox wall art, so you can pick the perfect print(s) for your home (no interior design degree required).

You’ve got the photos. You’ve got the empty wall space. You’ve even got the hammer (somewhere). But now you’re considering all the wall decor possibilities and, quite frankly, they’re endless.
Don’t panic. We’re making the decision-making process easy with our ultimate guide to wall art. Here’s the lowdown on every type of wall print we do (formats, finishes, frames – you name it) so you can find the right fit for your space.
What types of wall art decor does Photobox offer?
First things first – the line-up. We have six main types of wall art prints to choose from – all are available in a range of sizes.
- Canvas prints: The classic. Your photo is printed onto 100% polyester fabric and stretched around an 18mm wooden frame. It adds texture and warmth, making it lovely for cosy spaces like living rooms or bedrooms.
- Poster prints: The versatile option. Printed on high-quality 200gsm paper, our poster wall prints come in three finishes – standard (semi-gloss), glossy (for popping colour) or extra-matte (for zero glare). Great for framing yourself or sticking up on the wall just as they are.
- Aluminium prints: The cool and modern pick. These 3mm prints are built to last, using two layers of aluminium sandwiching a hard plastic core. Its scratch-resistant and waterproof surface gives your snaps an HD upgrade – ideal for showing off crisp details in both colour and black and white shots.
- Acrylic prints: The statement piece. We print onto 4mm thick acrylic with a special black film backing to give your photos incredible depth and a 3D-like effect. It’s shatter-resistant and UV-protected, meaning your print can last for years without fading.
- Mounted prints: The contemporary choice. We print onto a lightweight 5mm white PVC board for a sleek, borderless look. The smooth matte finish means zero glare, while UV-resistant ink keeps those colours popping. Rigid but light, these mounted prints look just as good propped on a shelf as they do on the wall.
- Photo collage prints: The storyteller. Can’t choose just one photo? Don’t. A picture wall collage lets you bring all your best moments together in a single print. Best of all, you can get that collage look on our poster, canvas, mounted, aluminium and acrylic prints styles.
What are the smallest and largest wall decor sizes available?
Whether you have a tiny nook to fill or a massive empty space above the sofa, we’ve got a wall art size to match.
Our range starts with dinky 20 x 20 cm squares (ideal for creating a grid of small wall pictures) and goes all the way up to an impressive 120 x 80 cm. If you’re looking for large prints for walls that make a serious impact, you’ll find plenty of options here. Our wall art prints also come in different formats – portrait, landscape or square.
Can wall art be previewed before purchase?
Yes (and it’s a lifesaver). There’s nothing worse than ordering personalised wall art and wondering whether you’ve gone OTT or TTT (too teeny-tiny) on the size.
Our editor shows your wall prints above a virtual sofa with a handy ruler view. This means you’ll know exactly how your art fits in your space (and if you need to size up or down) before you even hit order. Dreamy – if we do say so ourselves…
What types of wall art decor can be framed?
You can add a high-quality, durable wooden frame to our canvas, poster and photo collage prints. These come in black, white or natural wood, so you can easily match them to your interiors (or your skirting boards).
For canvas prints, the frames look a little different. We call it a ‘floating frame’, which leaves a tiny gap between the fabric and the frame edge, so you can still see the characteristic sides of your canvas. This creates a lot of depth and makes the artwork look like it’s hovering inside. Very artsy.
Are hanging kits available for wall art prints?
We know that the hardest part of wall art decor is usually the DIY bit. For most of our wall art products (canvas, aluminium, acrylic, mounted prints, etc.), hanging kits are available to add to your order for a small extra cost. The only exception is posters, which are generally light enough to hang your own way or pop into your own frame.
Your walls have been naked for long enough. And now you’re fluent in wall art formats and finishes, there are zero excuses for that empty space. It’s time to dig out that photo you’re absolutely obsessed with and turn your hallway into the Louvre (but better, because it’s your face).
