5 tips to take great photos with your smartphone

Smartphones have become more and more convenient when we want to take instant pictures. Handier than your standard compact camera, mobile phones really are our ‘go to’ when it comes to capturing images.

Avoid the zoom

The digital zooms on our smartphones really are not the best. So you can forget the zoom if you want faultless photos. If you want to take ‘macro’ photos, it is best to forget the zoom and crop down your photograph afterwards.

Use editor tool apps

There are many apps that you can use to improve the quality of your photographs. So you should definitely make the most of them to help reveal the true beauty of your snap. Some apps that are worth checking out are: Aviary, Picsart and Snapseed. You can also download ‘camera’ apps that obtain many more options than the already built-in app, such as Camera MX or Camera+.

Beware of luminosity

Light is such an important element of your photograph and with smartphones it can be tricky to take a good picture if you are unaware of the importance of light. To take the perfect snap, it is much better to take your pictures in a natural light, or put as much light on the subject if the picture is taken inside.

Clean the lens

This may seem a bit silly, but because our smartphones are used a lot and put on several different surfaces, they become dirty! So make sure you clean that lens before you get snapping, to prevent any unwanted blurry pics.

Avoid the flash

The flash on smartphones really is basic and they won’t make your photographs look any better. The rendering is often blurred and the flash makes your photos seem yellow.
